Miri Dota2 League 2017 – A Starting Point

E-Sports has come a long way and to be able to be recognized / acknowledged in a community will take time (maybe years). When I heard there is a local DOTA2 tournament, I jumped right in (not literally) to help to cover the competition.

Below are the details of the tournament :

Miri Dota 2 Tournament 2017

Qualifiers: 22, 23, 24 December 2017
Venue: Stratos Cybersports Arena, Marina Parkcity Phase 1
Time: 10AM to 10PM.
Format: Single Elimination
Qualifiers time are flexible and might finish earlier.

TOP 4 Main event
Date 31 December 2017 & 1st January 2018
Venue: Imperial Permaisuri City Mall, Miri Ground Floor
Time: 10AM – 5PM (Night time have other events)
Format: Double Elimination and only Finals BO3

Prizepool: RM5500++

Supreme Champion: RM1500 + Medals
1st Runner Up: RM1000 + Medals
2nd Runner Up: RM500 + Medals

 

Whether you like it or not, E-Sports has become an international event.  We need to groom those talented players and do not deny their chances and their passion for E-Sports games.

That is why we need to support those organizers that willing to sponsor and put up a E-sports tournament to hone the players’ skills. One day, they might be international E-Sports champions.
