My First Meet and Greet With The Baker Family of Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

Let me start by saying whenever your alone, scared and just got your hand chopped off (your left hand to be precise), the very last thing you want to do is wake in the presence of your fears. Yes, this is the exact moment you realize the fear isn’t over and possibly the worse has yet to come. The only good thing that came from Ethan waking up at the dinner table with the Baker Family, was realizing that his missing left hand is back and the wrist is now fitted with a black watch which seems to be keeping track of his pulse. How kind of them right? Oh and let’s not forget the food they would so love for you (Ethan) to eat, if only it was something actually appetizing. As Ethan, you awake to realize you are surrounded by the Baker family. You take a look around the dinner table to realize an elderly woman sitting pretty still, old and lifeless in a wheelchair. Though it wasn’t mentioned, it made me feel as if this woman was possibly Grandma Baker. Next is the son Lucas Baker, who seemed out of line to his father and later has his hand dismembered right at the dinner table by his dad. Then was the wife, Marguerite Baker. She was easily angered by Ethan not wanting to eat the food she had prepared for the family and quickly leaves the table infuriated. Finally there was Jack Baker or “Daddy” as Mia (Ethan’s wife) had referred to him as early before this dining room scene. Jack was easily the man of the house as you watch him handle both his son, wife and Ethan quickly at the dinner table. He is also the muscle behind the madness, as he is mentioned in fear as “Daddy” by Ethan’s wife and brings both Mia and Ethan unconscious by hand to the Baker’s house. He can also be seen in many encounters with Ethan, very keen on stopping him in his tracks. There is still plenty mystery behind this family as this first encounter at the dinner table doesn’t explain a whole lot about each individual of the Baker family. However I’m more than certain much information and character will derive from them all as I continue onward from this point with Ethan into more of the terrors that await. Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is available now on PlayStation 4 (PlayStation VR mode included), Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Steam.
