PS Store Summer Sale

PS Store SUMMER SALE

It’s here again — not that we didn’t expect it or saw it coming as it’s a yearly thing. However, the pleasure of seeing titles you’ve kinda glanced at over the year drop anywhere from 28%, 40%, 60% never fails to make you, or at least me, reevaluate my prior doubts.

And I don’t want to be alone in this, so I’m going to drag you with me on a money-spending spree because I am weak… All jokes aside, if you haven’t bought some of these games when they did come out or when they initially went on sale, you’re in for some amazing price drops.

Let’s begin!

PS Store

Summer Sale* (PS4 Edition)

*prices may vary as my information comes from the Danish PS Store and I’m manually recalculating the USD price.

SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS

TEKKEN 7

STANDARD at $31

DELUXE at $44

Tekken 7 is the supposedly last game in the Tekken series that started oh-so-long ago. It’s more fast-paced than ever, it has voice-acting, and a good story that ties up loose ends — actually, as the last game in the series, it’s also the best game to get into Tekken as a new player.

THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT

STANDARD at $19

GOTY at $25

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can’t really be described in a few sentences. If you buy it, read and/or watch the first two games so you have an understanding of the world and lore. Afterwards, feel free to fall in love!

ASSASSIN’S CREED: THE EZIO COLLECTION

STANDARD at $22

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is by far providing you with the best character series in the Assassin’s Creed saga. If you want a good story, masterfully done game mechanics, and three games in one, then this is your collection!

ASSASSIN’S CREED TRIPLE PACK: BLACK FLAG, UNITY, SYNDICATE

STANDARD at $38

Assassin’s Creed Triple Pack: Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate is the collection of the newest Assassin’s Creed games (before Origins), and although I can vouch for all games being decent to good to amazing, I won’t go into too much detail. Black Flag and Syndicate are two very good games, easily worth the price. Unity is good if you’re a hardcore AC-fan willing to turn a blind eye to its problems.

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

STANDARD at $50

FIGHTERZ EDITION at $67

ULTIMATE EDITION at $74

Dragon Ball: FighterZ is the most anime-looking anime fighting game to this date. Previous Dragon Ball games have always had more cartoony and blocky graphics, however, this game changed the ball-game in every possible way introducing both a unique roster and tournament-ready combat. A different but absolutely stunning Dragon Ball game!

However, if you’d rather have a Dragon Ball game more like the previous ones, this next entry might just be what you’ve been looking for!

DRAGON BALL: XENOVERSE 2

The Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls Collection brings both acclaimed games from the makers of Detroit: Become Human in one neat bundle.

SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE

STANDARD at $25

GOLD at $50

South Park: The Fractured but Whole explores the foul mouths of Kenny, Cartman, and the others from the equally as foul-mouthed show by the same name. This time, it’s superheroes — so suit up and get ready to laugh, cry, and fart!

DIGIMON STORY: CYBER SLEUTH

DIGITAL EDITION at $12

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth surprised me with its actually good story, which to me made up for the tedious walking and repetitive nature of the game. However, if you’re a Digimon fan or 90’s kid… this won’t bother you as much.

Oh, so you like Digimon? Huh. Well, luckily, its sequel is also on sale!

DIGIMON STORY CYBER SLEUTH: HACKER’S MEMORY

DIGITAL EDITION at $38

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory is much like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in every possible way. Is it a must buy? Sadly not. However, if you liked the first one like me, and you want more of it, like me… then it’s worth it, yes. It provides a fun, comical, and to my mind, actually better/believable story than the first one.

SUPERHOT

STANDARD at $14

Super Hot became a massive hit straight away with its neat time-only-moves-when-you-move game mechanic. Along with that was a unique and interesting story, all packaged in a minimalistic and very intriguing graphics design.

VAMPYR

STANDARD at $56

Vampyr lets you live as a newly-turned vampire in London’s 1918. You’ll have to choose whether you embrace the monster inside of you or deal with it to saves more lives than you could’ve done in your normal human life. A classic RPG with choices and consequences, presented in the Victorian* gothic London.

*The actual Victorian era ended before 1918, but the aesthetics were still present afterwards. Aesthetics this game uses.

The next three games are all LEGO games and because the fun and enjoyment are the same across the games, but because I love them all, I’ll mention each of them, however, with a single description.

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES 2

STANDARD at $34

DELUXE at $38

LEGO BATMAN 3: BEYOND GOTHAM

PREMIUM at $20

LEGO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

DELUXE at $28

LEGO games have a special place in most of our hearts.  They are fun, casual games that jabs at pop culture and lets you live through some of this generation’s greatest stories.

SKYRIM SPECIAL EDT.  + FALLOUT 4 G.O.T.Y EDT.

STANDARD at $50

Skyrim and Fallout 4 are both well-renowned games by Bethesda — although the whole Skyrim thing has gone on for a bit too long now, it’s still one of the best RPGs there is. Fallout 4 also does a great job in introducing newcomers to a world of waste: delivering an intriguing narrative along with a great story-world.

SWORD ART ONLINE: FATAL BULLET

STANDARD at $50

DELUXE at $67

SAO: Fatal Bullet or any SAO game has its flaunts and like the anime, a split fanbase who either loves it or hates it. Fatal Bullet is, however, according to most sources the best of its predecessors.

THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS: KNIGHTS OF BRITANNIA

STANDARD at $44

The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is the game, following the group most-widely known from their Netflix Original Series where they explore Britannia and the secrets of the Demon Race. The game is quite entertaining, while still being a tad bit underwhelming. Fans of the show will probably like it, however, newcomers might feel like its a good-to-great fighting game, but a subpar game.
