Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Feature Alternate Ending

The latest installment to the Legend of Zelda series has strayed a bit from the classic formula. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild keeps us in anticipation with each new feature announced.

IGN Portugal recently interviewed series producer Eiji Aonuma and learned two new facts about the game.

Breath of the Wild will offer an alternate ending to the game. Players will have the chance to view this alternate ending after fulfilling certain criteria, Aonuma explained.

But this isn’t this only surprise to long-time fans of the series. Epona has been confirmed to be in the game, but it is unclear if she will be a main component. Epona has been Link’s trusty sidekick throughout his journeys in several Zelda installments.

Aonuma has shared little about her role in the game, but he expressed to IGN Portugal that “[he] does not want to reveal details about how to find her, or what that means.”

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long before exploring the new world of Zelda. Breath of the Wild will release as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch. It also comes to the Wii U as possibly Nintendo’s final title for the system.

Breath of the Wild releases on March 3 for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
