Another highly requested feature is the ability to set custom wallpapers. Present in both the PS3 and Vita systems, it’s great to hear that players will soon be able to display their captured photographs proudly.

Other features include a simplified notifications screen, further quick menu implementations such as creating a party on the fly without having to go into the app itself. Update 4.50 also adds to the PS4 social features with the ability to post screenshots, text or gifs directly into the activity feed.

PSVR

On a final note, Sony is keeping strong with continued PSVR support. With update 4.50 comes the ability to watch 3D Blu-rays in stereoscopic 3D directly from the PSVR headset. This is sure to be a welcome addition. Keep the updates coming.

Starting today, System Software 4.50 has entered the closed Beta. If you’ve signed up for the trial program, make sure to check your e-mails to see if you were chosen to participate.
