Horizon: Zero Dawn is a Sony PlayStation 4 exclusive crafted by the developers of Guerrilla Games (well known for their Killzone game series) and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s a third person action RPG set in a world inhabited by machines and humans. The game features a female main character named Aloy, who sets off to embark on a journey to unlock the mysteries of the unknown dangers which kept her sheltered for so long. The game only features a campaign, as there are no known plans for any sort of multiplayer. Now just to throw it out there I’m a huge fan of Capcom’s Monster Hunter series. Hunting down monsters has been my thing since the PlayStation 2 era and it’s still my thing to this day. So how does any of this tie into Horizon: Zero Dawn you ask? Well hunting down monsters is Aloy’s thing too. See in Horizon: Zero Dawn you have to constantly lurk within the wild and along the way you may run into a bunch of possible threats. These threats are easily explained as robotic dinosaurs. Each dinosaur looks and acts differently. They all as well have many different strengths and weaknesses. It’s up to the the player to study each one and understand it’s habits, attack patterns and how to effectively take it down. Each available weapon can be key to victory and the player must tactically implement them on the battlefield. You can even set traps to bait your enemies into. All of these key game features are literally found in the Monster Hunter series, which is easily why Horizon: Zero Dawn has my attention amongst its full storyline which has yet to be fully unveiled since the title is not released yet. Are any of you looking forward to Horizon: Zero Dawn? If so, what drives your interest for the game? Leave your answers in the comments. Horizon: Zero Dawn is available only on PlayStation 4 and is slated for release February 28th, 2017. For more on Horizon: Zero Dawn keep it locked right here to MagGamer.
