Movement Across the Globe

Arm Leg Head Leg Chest, Keep Calm and Just Surge

Now the gaming world as we know it since the dawn of genre starter Demon Souls made way, many similar games of the sort began to emerge for all gaming platforms to enjoy. These games are made to place you through punishment and once victorious, reap the rewards. Now correct me if I’m wrong (in the comments that is), but The Surge seems to add difference as its combat system aims to pinpoint and target areas of interest while in the mist of battle which in my eyes is the first of its kind in this particular genre. The Surge is a hardcore action RPG with its focus mainly on tactical melee combat. The game is pushed by the teams at Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive. The Surge will feature looting, crafting, character progression and a dynamic targeting system used to focus in on and dismember limbs individually (oh yes limbs everywhere). Your character will feature an exo-suit which can be mixed and matched with armors all to fit with your play style. However your suit has a power output limit, meaning you’ll have to pick and choose the upside and downside to your suit’s overall capabilities as you actively level it up. Ranged combat will be inflicted by a friendly drone you can also customize with just the right type of ammunition for the job. Close quarters combat will be unforgiving. Be sure to be not only equipped but ready to study the enemies behaviors/attacks, figure out which limb to focus on to best suit victory and fight strategically enough to claim it as CREO Complex is filled with many threats. Dying shouldn’t be an option, though it is one none the less. Die and you leave behind your valuable tech scraps (in game currency), which you’ll have to fight back to the point of death to obtain them again. Weapons are your friends, as you actively use different types of weapons to defeat your enemies. Each weapon has an affinity level, meaning the more you use the weapon the better it gets. If this game wasn’t already on your radar, is it now? Does the dynamic targeting system excite you as much as it excites me? Let’s continue the discussion in the comments. The Surge is slated for a May 2017 release and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more on The Surge remember to keep it locked right here on MagGamer.
