Nintendo has detailed the season pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This is the first time that a main Zelda entry has received any kind of DLC so the introduction of a season pass comes to quite the surprise.
The season pass will be available to purchase for $19.99 / £17.99 when the game releases on March 3, 2017 and will include two content packs. It’s worth noting that these packs will not be made available individually.
Staying true to its long lasting tradition, the season pass will include immediate access to three treasure chests in the grand plateau containing items and pieces of clothing Link can wear.
The details of the Season Pass are as follows:
– New Cave of Trials Challenge
– Hard Mode
– Adds an additional feature to the map
– New original Story*
– New Dungeon
– Additional Challenges
*I wonder if this new original story had to be cut from the main game. Late last year, Eurogamer reported that Zelda might miss the Switch launch. I wonder if this story content – and DLC in general – has anything to do with that. If the season pass is a good choice or not – remains to be seen.
