The Last Guardian Receives Permanent Price Cut

As of today, The Last Guardian has received a permanent price reduction, bringing the cost down to $40 (or $39.99, if we’re being annoyingly accurate). That’s $20 off its original asking price of $60 ($59.99) or a 33% if you enjoy percentages.

It’s a shame to see a game that has clawed its way out of development hell and also has Team ICO’s name on its shoulders, perform so much less admirably than intended. The game was met to a somewhat lukewarm reception with critics and gamers alike harshly critisising the game’s camera and controls. Having played a small portion (roughly 3 hours) so far, I can verify that there are a few persisting issues that can detract from the overall experience.

However, The Last Guardian has heart – of which a lot of modern games lack. Trico has a mind of its own and the relationship between the boy and the beast is beautiful and pure. I can tell from what I have played so far that if you manage to look past certain shortcomings, it’s an relationship well worth experiencing for yourself. Keep an eye out for my review of The Last Guardian hitting MagGamer soon. Until then, if you’ve wanted to see what all the fuss is about, the point of entry just got a little cheaper.

Like always, for everything in the wonderful realm of gaming, MagGamer has you covered.
